  Come join the Power and Sail Fleet for the annual "burning of the socks", an annual maritime tradition where sailors and boaters burn their winter socks* to celebrate the end of winter and welcome warmer weather and the start of the boating season.  Please bring your nasty old winter socks to burn in the firepit and hear how this joyous tradition got started. The weather is expected to be great so join us at the point to celebrate the coming boating season.

  *cotton or wool recommended

  Menu:

  Shrimp Boil and hot dogs with chips.  You can also bring a dessert to share!

  Wine, beer, sodas and water will be provided, all for the low, low cost of $20.00 per person.  Event begins at 12:00 with beverages, food service begins about 1:00pm

  Hop on over to MVYC for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt for kids of all ages! We’re planning a festive afternoon with egg-citement, sweet surprises, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny! 

  Event Schedule:

  1:30 PM – Volunteers meet to help hide eggs.
  2:00 PM – Egg Hunt (Sections separated by age group)
  2:30 PM – Easter Bunny arrives! (with goodies and smiles!)
  2:30 PM – More Egg Hunting, Food, Drinks, Fun
  
  Parents & Grandparents – We Need Your Help!
  Please drop off 12 pre-filled plastic eggs per participating child to the Crow’s Nest by Wednesday, March 25. (No real eggs, please!)
  OR Stop by the Crow's Nest and find the bucket of eggs and help stuff with the pre-bought candy.  What else are you doing while socializing and watching the game!
  
  Eggs can be filled with treats, stickers, small toys—anything fun and festive!

  Please RSVP by COB Wednesday 25 March and note number of kids, plus bring kid friendly snacks or juice boxes.

  Please join us for the annual MVYC Commissioning Day and Blessing of the Fleets!

  Passed down through generations of sailors and navies around the world the centuries-old ceremony is intended to safeguard crews and ships from the danger of the sea through a traditional blessing given by a clergyman at the waters edge. Our ceremony will be brief and features the flag raising by the Coast Guard Silent Drill Team. There will be live entertainment .

  Please join us for the ceremony and the picnic with food and drink provided by the Club immediately after the proceedings.

  Please join the MVYC Social Committee for a Serenity Sunday morning at the pool for an Adult Only event filled with Mimosas, coffee and lite fare.  Feel free to come and just sit, sip and relax or bring out your inner Olympian and have the swim lanes to yourself for some laps.
