Our Board of Trustees, Five (5) Officers and Six (6) Directors, are elected annually and conduct the day to day business of the club. Activities are governed by our Article of Incorporation, Bylaws and Club Rules. |

Gene Diotalevi Commodore Gene has been a member of the MVYC for over 20 years and has had the pleasure of serving as Director of Membership, Treasurer, Security and Pool Vice commodore and Rear Commodore. In addition to serving as a MVYC Board member, Gene has served as the Communications Chair for ten years and as the MVYC Social co-chair for two years. Gene has also chaired, or co-chaired, many MVYC events such as Commissioning Day, Adult and Children Christmas parties as well as numerous point parties including his favorite event, Lobster Fest.Outside of MVYC, Gene has served as a Member at Large (MAL) for the Potomac River Yacht Club Association (PRYCA) representing various Yacht Clubs on the Potomac, the DC and Alexandria Annual Parade of Lights as communications co-lead and is an advocate of the Potomac River supporting various River-Keeper organizations. Gene is a retired United States Coast Guard Officer and he and his wife, Peyton and daughter Ella reside in Mount Vernon Terrace. His oldest daughter Lauren loves to visit from her home in Cleveland. | Mitchell Mutnick Vice Commodore Mitchell has been a member of the club since 1984. He and his wife Jane have two children and four grandchildren. He has been a Northern Virginia resident since 1975 and a longtime member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, having held many leadership positions in the organization. He has been boating for almost 40 years. Prior to going to work for the Commonwealth of Virginia he was an attorney in private practice in Northern Virginia. Mitchell looks forward to continuing to work with everyone to maintain a good family environment for all and to keep the club a fun place to boat and enjoy. | Lindsay Alexander Rear Commodore Lindsay has been a member of the club for almost three years. I have a loving husband, Patrick, and two children, Luke (7) and Lily (5). We live at the pool during the summer and have enjoyed learning to fish. I work as a Contracting Officer at TSA and worked for the Navy doing contracting before that. I can now put homeschool teacher on my resume as well. I have been volunteering as part of the social committee since joining, planning some family friendly events and assisting with some of the adult parties as well |
Karen Offringa Secretary Karen has been a member since 2017. Karen grew up in the area and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, followed by undergrad at JMU and a Master’s in Education from GMU. Karen has worked for non-profits/associations for over 20 years and currently works on the Education Team at the Society of American Military Engineers helping to produce educational programming for our civilian and government members. Karen is a proud mom of Tierney (a senior at Elon University) and Boede (a sophomore at VA Tech), and 1 silly pup (Nash). Karen enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family. Karen and her husband, Dan, enjoy taking our boat to Gunston Cove during the summer for raft ups and relaxing by the pool on hot summer evenings. |

Larry Ichter Director Membership Chairperson Larry and his wife, Kathy, joined MVYC in March 2013. Larry grew up in Yacht Haven and his parents were long time members of the Club. Larry’s father John served as Commodore for two years in the 1970’s. Larry learned to sail as a teenager at the Club in Penguin sailboats, sailed in the racing class and paddled canoes in the President’s Cup races. After retiring from Fairfax County Government, Larry moved back to Yacht Haven. Since joining the Club, Larry has been active in the membership, social, grounds, and planning committees. He served as Membership Director for two years. Larry has a 22-foot sailboat and has been co-hosting kayaking on Saturday mornings at the Club. | Nicole Gray Director Social Committee Chairperson Born and raised in New Jersey, Nicole has called Virginia home since 2001. Nicole wears many hats! In addition to being the Managing Member of a consulting firm, she is active in far too many state and national industry associations. In her spare time, she enjoys grant writing and volunteering as Popcorn Czarina for BSA Colonial District. In 2021, Nicole, her husband Keith, and their 9-year-old daughter Amelia joined the MVYC and immediately dove in headlong with Amelia joining the swim team in very short order. Nicole and Keith began volunteering for social committee events and - of course - the swim team, as well as partaking in the occasional poker night. Nicole is excited to support the MVYC as Chair of the Social Committee and appreciates every volunteer who helps keep the MVYC afloat. |

Adam Rosen Sail Fleet Captain Adam and his wife, Michelle, moved to the Yacht Haven neighborhood and joined MVYC in 2018. They have a bubbly three-year-old daughter, Isla, and another daughter soon on the way. Adam developed a love for sailing while a student at William & Mary, where he raced FJs and 420s as crew in A fleet and skipper in B Fleet. After college he raced keelboats as a law student in Cleveland, Flying Scots in Pittsburgh, and finally Buccaneers at PRSA in Arlington before hunkering down for a life of slow Catalina sailing here at MVYC. Adam works as a Managing Director at EJF Capital, leading underwriting for a private credit strategy focused on law firm lending. |
Dan "Pop-Pop" O'Keefe Immediate Past Commodore - Future Planning Captain Immediate Past Commodore, Dan and his wife Chris, joined the club in April, 2009 and MVYC quickly became a central part of their social life. They are involved in almost all club activities from TGIF’s and social activities to work projects and power fleet events. They can usually be found on or about "Pop Pop" every weekend during the boating season. For he has served as a Director and chairman of the Membership Committee, Treasurer, & Rear Commodore. Dan also serves as Treasurer for the Potomac River Yacht Clubs Association (PRYCA). |

Tom Hayes Communications Lead Tom has worked in the supply chain and technology field for over 30 years and is currently employed by NVR/Ryan Homes at their executive office in Reston, VA. Tom grew up in the Warrenton area and is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and has an MBA from UoP. Tom enjoys boating, golfing, and officiating Northern Virginia High School basketball. | Alexi Stavropoulos Digital Correspondence Team Lead Past Commodore, Alexi, his wife Christine, and daughter Zoe joined MVYC in the spring of 2004. In 2006, Alexi was elected to the board of trustees. He has since served on the board for 10 years, as House Chair, Marina Chair, Pool Chair, Treasurer, Rear Commodore and Vice Commodore. During that time Alexi also spent 5 years as the Power Fleet Captain. Alexi can be found at the club on weekends enjoying friends and boating. |
